Suspended Ceilings 6 - Fasteners and Hanger Wire
Intro - Materials - Plan - Lines/Molding - Chalklines - Wire - Ref. Strings - Runners/Lines - Grid - Panels - Options

Margin of Error: 1/4"

Now you are ready to attach the wire fasteners (eyehooks) and hanger wire that will support these runners. Screw the wire fasteners or eyehooks into the ceiling joists where the joists intersect the runner chalklines. Your eyehooks can be placed on 4' intervals so you do not need a fastener at every intersection. Then thread your wire through these eyehooks and securely wrap it around itself three times. The wire should be long enough to extend below the level of the new ceiling at least 6". Add extra hangers and wire at light fixtures, one for each corner or as instructed by the manufacturer.
